American Shoal

Went way east this time, all the way over to American Shoal.  This is the next lighthouse going east from Sand Key Light, with shallows all around and lots of nice healthy coral.  Here’s a sampling of what the reef looks like in the general area of American Shoal.

Geiger Key Snorkeling

Red Grouper

Red Grouper also exist all over the reef in Key West.  They are not as smart as Black Grouper, so they will sometimes just stare at you, the potential predator.  This one gave me a good long look before I finally ran out of air and had to surface.
